How It Works

Meet Our Team

  • Abe Chera, Clinical Director

Abe Chera, CASAC, brings over 10 years of experience in coaching and mentoring individuals, helping them achieve their personal and professional goals. He has worked extensively in a clinical setting for over 7 years and currently runs a successful private coaching practice. Abe’s approach is grounded in his deep understanding of human behavior and communication. His role as an intake specialist and trusted advisor have made him a compassionate and skilled resource for individuals and their families within the community. A dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, Abe also consults for several non-profit organizations and has worked with disadvantaged teens in community yeshivas. He is also a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) and a certified licensed recovery coach.

  • Nachman Assoulin, Co-founder

Nachman Assoulin is a dedicated husband, father, brother, and son, as well as an owner and partner of several small businesses. In his free time, he enjoys a variety of activities, including surfing, boating, music, sports, and spending time in nature. Named after Rabbi Nachman of Breslov, Nachman draws profound inspiration from his teachings, which have guided him in founding several nonprofit organizations, including the Makor Haim Center, Congregation Zvi Lazadeek in West Allenhurst, and a synagogue in Uman, Ukraine. His early education spanned several elementary schools across different states, and he later graduated from Shaare Torah High School.

  • Isaac Ashkenazi, Co-founder

With a background in songwriting, philanthropy, and entrepreneurship, Isaac believes that “all industries, organizations and companies are made up of individuals with passions, dreams, fears and personal ambitions. Whether you run a hedge fund or a nonprofit, those factors should always be considered when making decisions."

When creating Aleph, our aim was to create an organization that focused on facilitating empowering relationships. I believe ultimately this organization will give any and all willing individuals the ability to use their own unique power and stories for the greater good of themselves and those around them.

  • Albert Beyda, Co-founder

Albert’s experience in community service began in 2018, chairing special project initiatives and consistently running annual drives for organizations such as Sephardic Bikur Holim and UJA.

When the founders of Aleph approached Albert to interview for a mentor position, he was immediately struck by the urgency of the community’s need for this kind of support.

“Life is in the transitions” is a quote Albert lives by. Having successfully navigated several personal and career transitions, he reflects that these milestones were only possible because of the steady presence of a mentor. That mentor taught him how to build a balanced life, think clearly and diligently through challenges, and implement life-changing habits.

Albert believes Aleph has the power to transform the community. “We are a much larger community now, with growing social, familial, financial, and wellness pressures. These pressures require us to push our boundaries in how we care for ourselves and others. No one should have to take that on alone — and not everyone has access to someone they can turn to for support and guidance.”

  • Alice Chera, Development Advisor

Alice Chera is a certified professional Life Coach, executive coach, speaker, and discussion facilitator in practice since 2008. Alice’s work over the years has included private coaching, consulting, adult education and career path and personal development workshops for adults and teens. As a wife, mother, grandmother, and community member Alice understands the unique role women have today in navigating the demands of both their personal pursuits and caring for family. Alice gives stress management and career building workshops in a variety of corporate, educational, and institutional settings. Her workshops focus on building self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and resilience for both personal and professional success.

“"At Aleph, our core values are trust, integrity, and empowerment. We believe that through trust, we can build a strong, supportive community.”

—Abe Chera, Co-founder
